Being a single Mom...... Sucks

So Brad started his new job up in Edmonton this past Monday.... We decided together to take the job and do weekends together till the house sells.  I knew it was going to be hard,  But really it's not as bad as i thought it would be for sure.

To make it easier I've totally cut back on what i do.  I've simplified my life to pretty much Thurs. and Sat. Photo shoots. and one more craft night!  That has made it so much easier to not have so many demands on me.

Brad likes the job so far!  It's great Money and hours!  I guess the only downside it him leaving... It was super hard on Sunday but it's gotten better and better... But we are excited to see him tomorrow
Now the job is to finish the house so we can actually put it up for sale... Brad's been so frustrated cause he just could not get it all done fast enough.  But hopefully this weekend we can work and work and work till it's totally done and then throw it up for sale!!

Since Brad's been  gone Mom (thank heavens for My Mom) and I have worked hard Cleaning dejunking, Painting.... Pretty much anything we can do so Brad does'nt have to.  It's looking good and i'm excited to get everything ready to put it up!!

Canning Again.....

So we were not going to can this year..... But I caved with the smell of ripe peaches... I just got 2 cases this year.  The boy's and i woke up Monday morning and we were ready to get to work.

Knox's job was to hand me the peaches to blanch.  He did a very good job.  Blazes Job every year is to peal the peaches... he is so good at it.  So i keep letting him do it.  We were doing really good till i started helping peel.  The peaches were so stringy and soft and yucky.  At first i thought oh great i let them get to ripe.  But i was sure they were perfect.  Anyway after peeling i started cutting. and that's were i found the problem... They were rotting from the inside out!  Blahhhhhhh!

So after all the work we got a few quarts out of it... not sure they will be any good but the boy's had a great time canning!!

And on a happy note... It was Knox's first day of (early entrie) Preschool!! He's delayed in Speech... (i think he's fine) But if they are willing to take him!! i'll let him go! Photobucket Photobucket

Happy Back to school!

I love this time of year.....  The last few Weeks of summer seem to slip by so fast,  But it's welcome!  By the end of summer my kids (or just me) is ready for back to school!  This summer has slipped by so fast i found myself totally unprepared for "back to school".  So this weekend we slipped up to edmonton to visit Jayme/Lara and Missy/Ryan.  We tryed to do some school shopping but it was so crazy busy in the city! I guess everyone else was a little late for there school shopping as well.

Anyway  The kids were able to spend a chunk of there hard earned summer  money on clothes that they loved.  We were able to spend a chunk of our hard earned money on School Supplies..... Blahhhhh but that's a whole other post.

Brody is in Mrs. Dorners grade 5 class and Paris is in Mrs. Karrens grade 4 class.  This was the first year that i was not asked to come in with them.... Probley cause is dropped them off in my monkey p.j's totally bra'less and my hair  was extra huge!  But non the less they did not require my presents there.....

Blazer's Lemonaid Stand

Brody and Paris have been working really hard this summer, to earn Money to buy there school clothes.  Grandma Sharon was the best supporter of them,  She gave Brody a lawn mowing job once a week all summer.  Paris & Brody also got a job babysitting 6 bunnies for a week.  (That was the best job ever)  They were responsible to feed and water the bunnies ( a 2 min Job) but they would stay over there all day and play with them.  They have also have a cupcake stand and they are hoping to do one more this week!  Anyway Brody has saved up $160 and Paris has $80.  They were able to go up and open up Bank accounts and get there "credit Card" which is really a debit card but why burst there bubble right!

Anyway Blaze has felt a little left out.  He loves caring money around and paying for his own stuff.  He received money for his birthday and pretty much thought that was the best present ever!  Anyway he really likes to try to sell stuff so he likes doing lemonade stands....  Which i hate, but the kids helped him go buy the cups and lemonade, and make it and set it up... He did look cute out there.

He earned a $3.25 before throwing in the towel on account of to many Bee's.

Photobucket He had a lemonade stand a month ago, and nobody was paying any attention to him (from inside the house) until he came in with a pile of money ($12)  Guess he was a good salesman that day.  That night we had Pizza for dinner, and after realizing Blaze had been missing for a while we checked around for him and sure enough he was outside selling our leftover pizza!  Bahahaha

And Just as a side note,  Knox called me in today to wipe his bum.... and this is what he looked like.... You know it stinks when he's holding his nose..... Photobucket Photobucket

Blazers Date day...

So for the past while Blazer and i have been planning our date...  I've got a galvanized old bin thing that we (Blazer and I) planted flowers in last year...  So this year we wandered back into the garden center in walmart and Blazer got excited about getting our flowers planted this year.  I told him we had wait till pay day.  Blazer came up with a alternative.. He said "Mom,  When is your craft night...?? You should make money that night and then we can use that to get flowers...."  So that's what we did.. Who cares about putting the money back into the bank account right...

So Today was our date day... We went into Dan's Greenhouse and Blazer got a cart and away we went.  He got to pick out all the flowers himself which he felt pretty proud of.  We got everything he though would look nice... Which came to a whopping $38...Yikes... way more then i would have spent.  Then we headed off to Walmart to buy the dirt... Hmm there is something wrong with that... Buy dirt.  Anyway we made it home and got right to work.

Blaze is pretty happy with his master piece and I've got to say it turned out way cuter then i was expecting while i was watching him pick out all the flower... I did so good to keep my mouth shut. blazer 004

He even had his own work gloves.

The Hair

So anyone who's been around our family the last 6 months will know that Brody's hair is a sore subject with all of us.  He insisted during hockey to have a mullet. Yep a full mullet.  We questioned why why why,  but we agreed (Brad forced me,  he said Kade..... this is one less thing to fight about) to let him go ahead and grow it as long as after hockey we could cut it... he kinda agreed.

So hockey came and went but the mullet stayed around... Anytime a haircut was brought up everyone ended up mad and storming off.  I tried to cut it once and trimmed it and it looked better for a day then it grew back...

We are not sure why Brody is so insistent on growing the mullet.  Last night was Brads final draw.  Everyday this week we've talked about cutting it and everyday this week ends in tears.... (pretty much from me)  cause he won't cut it.  Anyway last night we did it...... Brad forced him to cut the Sampson Hair....

Don't tell him i posted these pictures...

This was the before....

So much better... And Brad softened the blow by saying... B now you can start growing it out again!
He's forgivin' us this morning... But I'm not goin' lie it was touch and go there... I thought we would wake up to a miserable kid again this morning....  Our Sampson!

Easter 2012

So this year Easter we spent at home... We got home from our Kelispell trip on Saturday night so the easter bunny was able to come on sunday.... After church.  The kids were all really excited.  I was excited cause I was able to get everything down in the states so it was pretty cheap and lot's of fun stuff.
The Little boys were so excited about it.  Even more excited when they saw the note from the Easter bunny.  Blazer and Knox did'nt go to church... they both had a wicked cough...So they were hidding out in the bedroom while the easter bunny dropped of his goodies....  Blazer looked out the window and could hardly contain himself... The kids and I came home from chuch and the first thing we hear coming through the Door was " B...(brody) the easter bunny came and pooped out eggs all over the yard!!"  I think he got that from a easter movie they had watched.  Funny non the less.

So the kids checked out there baskets and then out they went for a easter egg hunt.  It was a great Easter sunday to spend together.

Easter Trip

So for Easter we had the plan to go to Utah...... But we decided to scale back and use half the money we saved to pay off a bill and we decided to go to Edmonton... We were so excited to go...but then Brad got sick. Now I'm not talking a cold sick...i don't think I've ever seen him so sick.  He's a bit of a baby when he's got the sniffles but he didn't even have time to be a boob about it, between running to the bathroom and the amount of time he spent in there.  Poor guy.  So by the time Thursday came he had quit running but still felt crappy.  I decided we better not go infect Family up in Edmonton so instead i dragged Brad to Kelispell.

Our first stop was at the "The Vortex".  The kids enjoyed it.... It was kinda weird.  I remember going to something like that when we were kids.  Anyway after that... I forgot i had the camera.  We went to the show.  We did a bit of shopping, ate, and went to the family fun center.  And that was about it.  It's such a beautiful drive out there... it was well worth the trip.

Kub Kar Rally.

We had the Kub Kar Rally this past Friday.  As we later realized it is B's last one!  Who knew!  Brody has not had good luck with his cub cars in past years...  the first year Brad did not realize your suppose to use graphite on the wheels... hence B coming in last place every race... the next year he had "The Bolt"  it did do better but still not even close to placing.. but it didn't come in last place.

This year however... was a whole new story.  When we where down in great falls a couple weekends ago,  we came across a whole section at Micheal's with Pinewood Derby stuff....  What.  Right then Brad new it was his...Oh i mean Brody's Year to shine! So he picked up cool wheel's and weights and a few other things.  B wanted a Wii Remote Like is cousin Keegan did last year.  So in true Wolsey Fashion Brad waited till the very last minute and worked till the wee hours in the morning trying to get the car cut out.

This year after the first Race B could smell the win!  He did awesome and with everyrace his face got brighter and brighter!  Long story short... he won from his cub group!  He was very excited and was determaind to save those awesome wheel's till next year... oh wait there is no next year for him in cubs!  He was a little bumbed that finally when we had it perfected he was done. What a Whirl Wind....

This past week has been a total whirl wind...  The kids have had the week of for reading week... Not sure why it's called that... They did not crack on book at all.  We started off with a weekend in greatfalls.  It was me and Brads 11th Anniversary. WHAT!  Yep that's right,  He's lasted 11 years,  I'm pretty sure we'll last the long haul,  Probley cause we both have said whoever leaves has to take the kids.... And we both don't want that... so we are stuck together!  Haha I'm kinda kidding (Kinda not).  Hehe.   So we headed off Friday afternoon and Met Mom and Dad down there.  Mom doesn't like to travel much with Dad by herself in case something happens,  So this was a perfect opportunity to meet up with us.

So Friday we bummed around for a bit,  Swam with the kids then Mom and Dad watched them while Brad and I went out for our anniversary to Cafe' Rio!!  Yea that's right  Nothing but the best for my Baby!  hehe we love cafe' rio and it was a treat not to have to make it myself!  It was Delicious.  Then we shopped around a bit... got Brad some much needed new shorts for the upcoming summer season.  And i got Coconut M & M's and we called it a night.  Saturday we got up and shopped all around and found some good deals and then went back and swam with the kiddies and watched a movie.  Sunday we spent the morning lounging around,  we got late check out so we didn't have to be in a hurry to leave.  We finally got going but couldn't leave till 2ish so we drove around greatfall's and explored.  Kinda exciting and who knew people still have the ginormous Satellite dishes still.... Yes we saw quite a few of them on peoples front lawns... hmmmmm

Monday I decided that i either was going to stay home with the kids for the week and go crazy or go up to Red deer with the kids and No Brad and go crazy... we opted for the road trip.  I'm not sure what possessed me to do it but i did it and we all survived to tell about.

We had a great time  I got to go to see the Vow, and go to Missy's Zumba Class that she teaches down at only women's fitness,  I got tonnes of Pictures done from the last photo shoot i had, And the kids all had a great time.  When Keegan and Brody are together we never see them!  The girls are a bit more high maintenance but they still did great!  The little boy's loved playing with Scouttie,  Not sure she can say the same but they sure love her.

Thursday we took off first thing in the morning to Beaumont to visit with Lara and the kiddies..  Poor Ella had jumped off the swings the day before and broke her arm at school.  I've got to say I've never seen Ella so Mellow.  Poor little girl!  Paris had fun waiting on her and tiding up.  The boy's loved playing the Jett and his toys and Brody just hung out,  (by then he was so overtired I think all he could do was sit.)  I got to have a good visit with Lara,  and she made us Cookies which lasted all the way to well the turn onto the highway ( 10min max).   We had a quick visit but fun and it was fun to see the kiddies!

We headed back home Friday (Brody had a hockey game Friday night and Sat.)  So i learned on this trip.....  I can do it by myself,  But i never want to again.  And the boy's where not horrible going to bed and they were not acting up near as much as i thought they would.  So long story short it's totally doable again.  So I'm excited to plan a trip up to Edmonton in the summer and hit WestEd!

On a totally unrelated, but exciting note... Today was B's last Session Hockey game and guess what......

HE GOT A SHUT OUT!  He's pretty excited about it!!  So we've just got playoffs then we are done for another season and our life can resume!

OK so the whole trip I had the camera but i never pulled it out except at Lara's... Oops.
