Funny Baby

Oh our Little Knox is growing up so fast. He started crawling like a mad man last week.
I've been tell Brad about this face that he makes but he's never seen it, so today my goal was to catch it in a picture. It took some work but here it is. Oh he's so cute.
Photobucket
We learned how to do circle quilts at quilt club last week. I'm hooked It's so fun and easy.

So I was telling Missy about it and She want's to try so i'm putting it step by step for her or anyone else so want's to try. I'm going to try to scan and put the pattern on or find one online but if you want a pattern just email me with your address and i can snail mail the paper to ya. Ok here it goes....

These are the two pieces that you will be cutting. you need 4 of each piece to make one block

Photobucket

2. fold each piece in half and finger crease so you can see the middle of each piece
Photobucket

Photobucket
3. Match the creases and pin
Photobucket
4. Stretch each side out and pin to fit along the edge. It takes quite a bit of stretching to get it but the more you do it the less pin's you have to use, because you get more use to how it is suppose to go.
Photobucket
5. do the same on the other side of the crease. So the entire piece is pinned
Photobucket

Photobucket
6. Start on the right side with the small piece up and slowly sew at 1/4 inch and turn as needed
Photobucket

Photobucket
#7. Trim as needed to make it square
Photobucket
#8. Once 4 squares are done iron and lay them out how you would like them to end up
Photobucket
#9. Fold over
Photobucket
#10 Be sure to match the seams and pin!!! This is super important or you'll have a wonkie cirlce.
Photobucket
#10. Pin and sew at 1/4 inch. Do this for both sides of the circle.
Photobucket
#11.Open both side and iron. Iron seams in opposite direction
Photobucket
#12. Match the middle seam and pin first, then match the two outer seams of the circle and pin, then sew at 1.4 inchs
Photobucket
#12. Open and iron this seam open
Photobucket
#13. after you sew and iron, most squares will need to be trimmed to make a even square.
Photobucket
And there you go. This is the Quilt I'm Making for Blazes Bed. Yes it's sock monkeys! I'll post pictures when im finished it. I think i'm going to love it!

Ok I hope that help ya miss!

What Kid's won't do for a Kinder

The Kid's have been slacking in there poop duty (picking up Foxx's Poop in the yard) They promised if we had a dog they would be on poop duty (no pun intended). Well i was out in the backyard yesterday and say all the poop hanging around. So when the kid's came home from school i told them whoever found and picked up the most poop won a special surprise.................. Oh the magic that happens with a little Bribe. Away they ran gathered up the poop in there bags and surprisingly this morning there were two kinder surprises waiting for them. They thought it was worth the hard work and i thought it was worth the $1. Everyone is a winner.

Today it Valentines day at school so the kids' addressed there Valentines last night with Brad and got them in there special ziplocks and put them in there Backpacks and are off to deliver valentines wishes to all. Paris Pulled out her very special valentines shirt from last year that still fits and we ironed it and she was super pupped to wear it. And Brody decided he needed Mohawk to woo the girls.

B's hockey update

So for you inquiring minds, Brad met with the coaches of the elite team for B and got discussing about money and Sunday's and they proceeded to tell us that B would be exempt from any Sunday practices but as for tourney's they said it would be better to have him cause the finial's are on Sunday and they would want the strongest goalie on to play. Anyway in the midst of this conversations Birthday's came up and they said something about a 2002 Birthday........oops who's got a 2002 birthday, hmmmm not B he's a '01. Brad said they about died, He said he was going to go home and call the tourney people and see about exceptions. Anyway we got a call back that night saying they would not make the exception on a 2001 birth year.

So long story short that made our decision for us! Be's to old by 3 weeks to play on that team. The coaches were disappointed but we were kinda relived cause it would have been tuff to say no to B when he really wanted to do it, So the coaches Still asked if B could come out and Practice with them. So we were happy with that for sure! B's excited to be able to practice with some super players besides his regular team. So we are finished Hockey in March and yes I'm kinda relived.
But I'm still a pretty proud mom!

Friends..

We have all sorts of friends at our house. Paris and Brody love to have friends over to play. Me not so much. But this past Friday Foxx got to have a friend over to play. (yes Foxx is the dog). His best friend and x-roommate,Maggie came over. Cliff and Marvell had to go to a funeral so they dropped Maggie off to Play with Foxx and Paris. Foxx was excited but Paris was ecstatic. She loved having both dog's to play with.
Photobucket
Blaze also is lucky to have a friend after the kid's leave for school. And that friend is Knox. He really likes him as long as he is not playing or touching his car's. I hope they grow up to like each other as much as the other kids' like each other.

Photobucket
Here are Knox and Paris Valentines. Knox is gross but funny Paris were her hand is we are sticking in a Valentine sucker so it looks like she giving it to them. And Brody decided to go with the traditional Valentine (Iron Man) He's to cool for our sweet valentine.
