Bedroom Redo

Yippee!
OK it's still not totally done, I want to paint the picture frames a light color and do a new duvet cover in yellow or green but other then that my room is finished!
So here is the before
Photobucket
OK this use to be Brody's room, but we switched him so Him and Blaze could start sharing a room.
So here is the after

So with my very own two hand's i built the headboard, I used a old door that Mom so nicely scavenged for me, Really she was just brave enough to ask the people who were taking it to the dump, if we could have it.
So the door, I got it sanded down, Added the trim with the nail gun and a one by four on the top. I Painted it then sanded it and roughed it up a bit more and that's how it turned out. Ended up being a 2 hour project, and cost about $30 for the paint and wood.
The quilt Is so exciting for me. I made it. I got this Amy Butler "love" fabric like a year ago and I had to have the exact perfect project for it. I hate to cut fabric! I love just laying it out and looking at it, But finally i found the right project for it. This hexagon quilt, and i had enough to make it to fit our king bed. So it took me a while to cut out then lay out then sew together. After that was done i sent it off to be quilted. It was 2 months of agony before i got it back!!! And about two minutes to get it on my bed, Only to have it removed cause the binding was not done and Grandma Hough just would not have that (little did she know that Paris has been done for over a year and it still not bound) Anyway so grandma took it upon herself to sew the binding on then Mom finished the job by doing the hand stitching, Till her hands hurt, Might I add. So it was a combined labour of love but I adore it! Thanks to Grandma and Mom!
I made the pillow cases which i will be making more of but i ran out of fabric so I've got to order more. It was the easiest Way to make Pillow cases. Mom showed me how to do it in about 10 min!! No kidding!
The shelving was made by my "love" Slave. He did such a great job of these! I love them. They fit the baskets perfect. We moved the TV from the living room into the bedroom.
We painted the room not once but twice. I started out with a yellow. Yikes it was the crappiest paint ever. Brad was on his 4th coat when we finally tossed in the towel. It was not covering at all. Plus Brad Hated it!! and when i say hated it, I can't explain how much he really did not like it. So i choose this great Grey color that ended up a little blue but so cute. We went 3/4 the way up the wall and finished it with white and put a chair rail between. I love it! I did not just want one color in the whole room so i thought that was a good way to break up the room.
Anyway that was a super long story for a little room but I love it!! This room makes me smile every time i walk in! I love love love it!

For Hire

We've got the "SUPER WEED PULLER" He worked our yard over today. He's available to take appointments to help out in your yard, And he usually starts out working with Pants but somehow they always seem to end up with then flung in the yard. I think it's cause they just get in the way of his hard work.

He does have an assistant who keeps the snack at the ready

So today i worked on our headboard! I'm so excited. Our room is about done! I got the headboard done. Brad is finishing the painting now, He finished the shelving unit. (yes Sister's i said unit).

So all that is left to do is the bed bed skirt, a few more pillow's and get the quilt bond, Which well i was suppose to do but was not getting it done so Grandma is spoiling me and picked it up today to sew it on, then Mom's stitching it for me. That's why i love living here!
So by next weekend I'll have pictures to put up of the whole room!! I'm so excited!

Back to school

So the kid's had there official first week back to school. It went smoothly, They are having a hard time waking up in the morning and also Paris is having a melodrama every night before bed because she's so tired. I'm sure it will wear off.
So today we popped out to do our back to school photo's. Mostly cause we've changed around the living room and i need some big ol' pictures to hang up. So out we went. The kids' did awesome.
Brody, however is in the beginning stages of the "awkward" stage. Which is a scary thing in our family cause it hit Brad and I both very early and did not end till grade 11 for both of us. Yikes! He's growing like a week and therefore is a bit awkward, He also is growing into his teeth which is a huge plus.

I also wanted to get a picture of our Little Baby before he got his Hair cut! I'm so sad. He's got the sweetest curls and he's so cute. But alas it was time for him to get a little boy hair cut instead of his Baby Sampson Locks.
So here he is. Pre

"TO DO"

So I've got a huge "TO DO" list. It all started with Brody and Blazes room. This summer while the kids were gone up to red deer i re did B and Blazes room. It turned out cute but never got totally done. But a few week's after almost having it done we decided to switch Rooms with the boy's so they ended up in our room and we moved to there room. So Now there room is finished (except for hanging up B's headboards, Brad swears he'll do it every other day but he's a busy guy).

Anyway that instituted a room re-do for Brad and my room. I did a quilt for the bed the a few months ago and then sent it off to be quilted, well it just got done last week! I am the most excited girl in the whole world!! I love the way it turned out but now I've got to finish the headboard, paint the room, find Baskets for the new selves that Brad built.

So i decided that i did not want the big t.v. out in the living room anymore cause it could only go on one wall and so the furniture could only go one way so the TV got moved into our room and so the couch got rearranged and new chairs were brought in and now i want to do new curtains and put these curtains on the back window in the kitchen which institutes a tiny kitchen redo.

So in other words I've got about a thousand things on my "TO DO" list. Here it is

1. Hang B's headboard
2. Paint our room
3. Find bed skirt and bin's for our room
4. sand paint and put together our headboard
5. pick fabric and make new curtains for living room
6. make ledge for pictures in kitchen
7. hang quilt on wall
8. Take new school pictures of kid's for living room wall

So i guess writing them out it does not sound that bad, but mean while Brad's doing the Pardging on the house and we really want to do a front porch, and the neighbors are going to divorce us if we don't get the tree trimmed sometime soon.

So long story short, we are keeping busy at our house.

Back to School!

So it's Back to school for the Wolsey Kids. The kid's got up at 7'o clock and got ready for school. So fun. They were so excited to head back. I was also so excited to send them back. So we dropped off the little boy's at Grandma Sharon's and off we went.
I went armed with a black Sharpie to label all the kid's supplies with a tiny BW or PW. So Brody went right to his class and started getting his stuff done while i took Paris to her class. Well what happened next totally shocked me. We walked in and Paris started Tearing up and clung on to me. Since Pre school she has never done this. I was shocked. Usually It's B that gets anxious about things. So i sat with Paris. The teacher came and talked to her about having a nervous tummy. Some Girls came over and asked if Paris wanted to walk around with them, But Paris just kept her face Buried in me. So finally I said Paris I've got to go help B and i'll come back and sit with you as long as you need but I've got to go just for a few minutes. By this time i was about in tears, cause it's just not like our Paris. So she said "I've got to go to the bathroom" so i said ok go and then come back to the classroom and I'll be back as soon as I'm done with B's stuff. So she said OK.
So i whipped down to B's room and he was all set up. We labeled the rest of his supplies and he gave me a quick hug and said goodbye and sent me out the door. so i headed back to Paris room expecting to have to stay with her, but to my surprise she was totally fine I went and gave her a quick hug and asked if she was ok, She looked at me like i was crazy and said a quick "yea Mom". So off i went.
After school I asked Paris how it went, she said great and she loves it. I asked her how she got over being scared, She said "Mom, I went to the bathroom really to say a Prayer, So heavenly Father could help me be happy at school" Wow! I am so proud of her and totally floored that she would think of Prayer all by herself! I'm so proud of her. She's such an amazing girl.
Brody was asked by Mrs. Selkie to sit by Marina who is a special needs little girl. She does not speak, But Mrs. Selkie asked B cause he's been in her class since grade one and B is so nice to her. B was happy to say yes, Which i think is pretty amazing for a little 8 year old to forgo sitting by friends to sit by this special little girl.
Long story short I'm a pretty proud Mama.
Blazer Starts his "School" tomorrow. I think some girls are going to be doing a Joy School this year which i'm going to do but until we get it set up i'm starting ahead with Blazer. So luck him gets to go to Mommy School Tuesday and Thursday for a couple hours. Hmmmm i wonder how this is going to work out.

Back to School Party

So the kid's had a back to school party tonight. They invited the neighbor kid's over and the cousin's got to come down.So they set up the outdoor movie theater for there movie party.
They worked really hard on writing out the invites all by themselves and delivering them. Well 3 got delivered the rest got a phone call.
So we started the movie at 8:30 and I'm hoping it's done in the next half hour or so cause it's getting chilly. But the kid's are having so much fun on one of there last late night's before school!

I Suck.

I suck at blogging in the summer! But alas summer is quickly coming to a end! Well really I have a hard time believing summer even came this year. But non the less it's time for the kid's to head back to school!
This past week has been busy. We had a special visitor that the kid's love. Her name is Maggie, It's Foxx's Sister (not by blood). She is quite a bit more lively then fox. the kid's love when she visits. She slept over 2 night's then we took her back.

Then the kid's and i went to the Mini Chuck wagon races that they have in Cardston every year. Grandpa Hough wrangles us up tickets for it and the kid's have a great time. It was Paris first chance to wear her new hat and Boot's. The kid's loved it.

I went in for a NON-PREGNANCY Ultrasound. Boy i thought they were bad when you were Prego. Yikes they make you drink more water and wait longer!! Holy Wizz is all I can say, That was a new experience for me!
Our Hot Water tank also Blew a fuse! Brad woke up to the sound of running water down stairs...... The big kid's were sleeping on a air mattress and they were just a floating along. Just kidding the water did not get to them but the storage room had water all over. So out the door went our hard earned savings. But that's one more good thing to add to our house sale when and if it ever happens.
And finally this is the last week of Vacation for the kids! They are beyond excited to go back, Ok maybe it's me that's beyond excited for them to go back! I love when summer comes around and I love when School comes.
